Bamburgh Castle charity support raises over £16,000 for RDA

RDA has benefited from over £16,000 in fundraising thanks to the support of Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland, which named RDA as its charity of the year in 2011. The final amount raised – from donations and fundraising activities – is a fantastic £16,367.39. The money will be divided between RDA National and the charity’s North and Edinburgh & Borders regions.

One of the major fundraising activities was a daring abseil from the castle’s iconic Constable Tower. RDA Chairman Sam Orde took part in the abseil and helped to organise the event: “I am delighted that Bamburgh Castle has supported RDA and enabled us to raise so much money to provide more riding for children and adults with disabilities. We had a brilliant day doing a sponsored abseil from this beautiful castle, and have been looked after very well by the team at Bamburgh Castle.”

As well as the huge support of the team at Bamburgh Castle, RDA would like to thank Adventure Northumberland for their help with the abseil.
