IMPORTANT NEWS - CRB and ISA
You may have heard in the news today that the Government have decided to suspend the Vetting and Barring scheme (Independent Safeguarding Authority) until further notice pending and full review. The Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) have confirmed this.
The new CRB form (and information pack), available from 19 July, will continue to be used with the section for ISA registration left blank for the time being. Current CRB Forms will not be accepted from the end of June to allow for processing time.
Home Secretary Theresa May announced on 15 Jun that registration, due to begin next month, is to be put on hold during this review. There will be a review of the entire vetting and barring scheme, with a "scaling back" likely to follow. Please see the Home Office Press Release below for further details.
RDA Member Groups should continue to carry out CRB checks and further details on the ISA scheme, once known, will be disseminated as quickly as possible.
