RDA rider in winning form at the Para Dressage Internationals
World Class Para Dressage Rider, Emma Sheardown achieves outstanding success at the Para International Dressage Championships in Moorselle, Belgium.
Competing in her first international competition of the year, Lincolnshire’s (Kesteven RDA Group) Emma Sheardown has kicked off the season in fine form.
Emma represented Great Britain as part of a team of seven riders at the Para Dressage Internationals held in Moorselle, Belgium.
Building on her success of last year, Emma competed as an Individual with the team being made up of Performance Squad riders including Paralympic GB star and Beijing triple Gold medallist – Lee Pearson – and fellow Lincolnshire Para rider – Sophie Wells.
Riding her horse – Purdy’s Dream – affectionately known as Eddie, she competed over all three days of the Championships and it was ‘win – win – win’ for Emma. “Eddie was an absolute star and I was thrilled with how he went” said Emma.
Competing in the Freestyle to Music, Emma had a lot to live up to following her Gold Medal winning performance at the Europeans last year. But she was on winning form again heading the competition with a score of 73.3% and beating her winning Team Test score on the first day of the competition by 3.3%.
