Introduction to Therapeutic Riding in Cheshire

A study day for Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who are interested in assisting disabled riders and RDA groups, or who wish to gain an insight into the benefits of therapeutic riding. Also suitable for those therapists who are already working with riders and wish to update their skills. This study day will provide a useful foundation for those who want to do the CPTRH Hippotherapy course.

  • Programme: the day will consist of theory and practical sessions and cover an introduction to:
  • The movements of a horse and its effect on a rider
  • The normal riding position
  • The benefits of riding
  • Mounting and dismounting
  • Assisting riders
  • Scope of practice and opportunities for practice

Cost:   CPTRH members £30, non-members £50. Lunch is provided.
