£11,000 raised for RDA in charity abseil

More than £11,000 was raised for RDA during a sponsored abseil off Bamburgh Castle. 43 thrill-seekers took the plunge to raise money, including paralympic gold medallist Liz Stone.

Sam Orde, RDA National Chairman, also took part, and afterwards said: “It was a great experience, even though it was so windy that I was blown away from the castle twice on the way down. I am delighted that we have raised so much money for RDA.”

Bamburgh Castle has generously named RDA as its charity of the year, and this abseil is one of a series of fundraising initiatives being organised to help raise as much money as possible.
